Round Rhodolite Garnet Stud Earrings | 9ct Yellow Gold

A matched pair of round rhodolite garnets bezel-set in 9ct yellow gold, each edged with fine milgrain, in a deep raspberry-red that leans to wine. 

The bezel does two jobs at once. Gold wraps right around each stone in one clean line, which protects the garnet and keeps the studs snag-free against hair and clothing, so they're the kind you can wear day in, day out without worrying about catching them. The fine milgrain beading around each rim adds a soft, heritage touch, and the warm yellow gold deepens the wine-red of the stones. A lot of colour for a small, wearable stud.

About rhodolite garnet
Rhodolite is one of the prettier members of the garnet family, and nothing like the dark red garnet most people have in mind. It's a natural blend of two garnet types, pyrope and almandine, and that mix is what pulls the colour toward raspberry and rose with a violet lean rather than plain red. The name comes from the Greek for rose stone. At this saturation it draws comparisons to pricier pink sapphire or ruby, but sits at a fraction of the cost, and it's typically worn untreated, just as it's found.
