About Australian sapphire
Australia is one of the world's great sapphire sources, with gemfields across central Queensland and northern New South Wales. Its sapphires are known for these earthy tones, the teals, greens and golds that set them apart from stones mined elsewhere, and many are worn just as they came out of the ground, untreated. Sapphire is corundum, one of the hardest gemstones there is after diamond, so it takes everyday wear beautifully.
