About blue topaz
Blue topaz is one of the more accessible coloured stones and one of the most versatile, because it comes in such a spread of blues. The trade sorts it into three main shades: sky blue (pale and icy), Swiss blue (a bright mid-blue) and London blue (the deepest, inkiest and most collectible), and this ring pairs the deepest with a lighter one. Almost all blue topaz begins life colourless and is treated to bring the blue out, which is standard across the trade and completely stable.
