A note on lab grown diamonds
A lab grown diamond is a real diamond. It’s chemically, optically and physically identical to a natural one. The only difference is how it formed: a natural diamond grew in the earth over billions of years, and a lab grown diamond takes a matter of weeks. Once they’re cut and polished, only a gemmologist with specialised equipment can tell them apart.
About diamond
Diamond is pure carbon, with its atoms locked into a tight cubic structure. That structure makes it the hardest natural material we know of. It also gives diamond its high refractive index, which is why a well-cut brilliant sends back so much light. A pear is a brilliant cut, so it sparkles like a round, and its tapered shape gives it a sense of direction that a round doesn’t have.
