Why this ring works
The oval cut is one of the most flattering shapes for the finger. Elongated, finger-lengthening, and visually larger than a round of the same carat weight. It's why oval has been the most-requested engagement ring cut for the last several years.
The pear cut shoulder stones are a deliberate choice over the more common round brilliants. Pears have a teardrop shape with one rounded end and one pointed end, and when set with their points facing the centre stone, they create a sense of motion across the finger. The mixed-cut combination gives this ring more personality.

A note on lab grown diamonds
Lab grown diamonds are made of the same material as mined diamonds: pure carbon, crystallised under intense heat and pressure. The only difference is where that process happens. Mined diamonds form over billions of years deep in the earth. Lab grown diamonds form in a controlled chamber over a matter of weeks, using the same chemistry. Chemically, optically and physically, the two are identical. Same hardness, same fire, same sparkle, same certification standards. No naked eye can tell them apart. Only a gemmologist with specialised lab equipment can identify the difference.
