Sapphires from the Queensland and New South Wales gemfields come in these deep teals, blues and greens rather than the classic royal blue, and here five of them sit together with the colour shifting from one stone to the next. The arrangement is the heart of it. Rather than line the stones up in a neat, even row, they're clustered at different heights and angles, oval and pear and marquise mixed, so they fall across the finger like petals rather than a straight line. It reads as intentional but not rigid. The cool white gold sits back and lets the sapphire lead.
