Multi-Stone Rainbow Band | 9ct Yellow Gold

A run of coloured gemstones bezel-set along a 9ct yellow gold band, a different stone and cut at every point, with small diamonds tucked between them. Garnet, peridot, blue topaz, amethyst and citrine, set out like a line of colour across the finger.

The whole idea is the mix. A square blue topaz sits at the centre with an oval peridot and a pear amethyst either side, a round garnet and a round citrine at the ends, and pairs of little diamonds bezelled in the gaps to break up the colour. Every stone gets its own full gold rim, which holds each one securely and keeps a busy spread looking neat rather than crowded. Read left to right it runs deep red, green, blue, purple then gold, so it more or less walks through the rainbow on the one band.

About the stones
Every stone in this band is natural, and the colours come from a spread of different gem families. Garnet brings the deep red, peridot the olive-green, blue topaz the clear sky-blue, amethyst the purple and citrine the warm gold, with diamonds for the flashes of white in between. A few of them double as birthstones through the year, so a band like this can quietly carry a run of family months in the one piece.
