Why this ring works
The pear cut is one of the most distinctive diamond shapes you can choose. It combines the brilliance of a round at the wide end with a tapered point that draws the eye down the finger and makes the whole hand look longer and more elegant. At 2.01ct it has real presence, and because a pear spreads its weight across a longer surface than a round, it carries that size beautifully on the hand.
The twist is what makes this ring feel like more than a plain solitaire. Instead of two straight shoulders meeting the stone head-on, the band crosses and curves around the diamond in a bypass motion. It softens the whole design, gives it movement, and frames the pear in a way that feels intentional rather than symmetrical. The diamond-set shoulders carry that movement through. Fifteen small round brilliants run up each side of the twist, adding sparkle that builds toward the centre stone rather than competing with it. A note on lab grown diamonds
A lab grown diamond is a real diamond. It is identical to a natural diamond chemically, optically, and physically. The only difference is how it formed: a natural diamond grew in the earth over billions of years, while a lab grown diamond was created in a matter of weeks under the same conditions of heat and pressure. Once they are cut and polished, only a gemmologist with specialised equipment can tell them apart.
What is a Type IIA diamond?
Type IIA is the rarest classification of diamond. Only about 1 to 2 percent of natural diamonds qualify, because the structure contains almost no nitrogen, which is what gives most diamonds a faint colour tint. Type IIA stones are the purest and most chemically perfect diamonds on earth. In a natural diamond this purity is extraordinarily rare and priced accordingly. CVD lab grown technology can produce Type IIA reliably.
