Five princess-cut Australian sapphires in teal, blue and green, bezel-set at angles across a 9ct yellow gold band. A bespoke piece, exclusive to Paton's Place.

The colour is unmistakably Australian. Sapphires from the Queensland and New South Wales gemfields come in these deep teals, blues and greens rather than the classic royal blue, and here five of them sit together with the colours shifting from one square to the next.

The arrangement is the heart of it. Rather than line the stones up in a neat, even row, they're clustered and tumbled at different heights and angles, so they fall across the finger like water over rocks. It reads as intentional but not rigid, which is exactly the feeling we were after when we designed it. Because it's bespoke, this exact arrangement is one of a kind.

The finishing touch is a delicate beaded edge worked around each bezel. That fine milgrain detail catches the light and softens the square stones, giving the ring a slightly antique warmth against the modern, scattered layout.
