About emerald
Emerald is the green member of the beryl family, the same species as aquamarine and morganite, and its green comes from traces of chromium and vanadium in the crystal. It's one of the classic precious stones, prized for that deep green for thousands of years. The emeralds here are created stones, which means they were grown in controlled conditions rather than mined: the same material as a natural emerald, with the same colour and makeup, just formed in a lab, which is what makes a green this rich so affordable. Like all emeralds they're best treated with a little care, since the stone can be on the brittle side, so keep them clear of knocks and ultrasonic cleaners and clean gently with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
