About aquamarine
Aquamarine is the pale blue member of the beryl family, the same species as emerald, and it takes its colour from a trace of iron in the crystal. The name comes straight from the Latin for sea water, which is exactly the tone it holds, that clear, watery blue. It's a well-loved stone with real history, long tied to the sea and once carried by sailors for safe passage.
