A 0.47ct round brilliant natural champagne diamond in a star-shaped halo of white diamonds, on a diamond-set 18ct yellow gold band.
Why this ring works
The champagne diamond is what makes it different. Most diamond rings chase the whitest stone possible; this one goes the other way, with soft cognac and caramel tones that catch the light differently to a colourless diamond. Champagne diamonds are completely natural, rarer than people realise, and they suit yellow gold beautifully.
The halo is where the character is. Rather than a plain ring of diamonds, the 30 white stones fan out into four points, north, south, east and west, so the head reads like a star or compass. The white halo (F–G colour, VS clarity) also lifts the warmth of the champagne centre, so the ring feels rich rather than muted. Diamonds carry on down the band, and the yellow gold warms the whole thing, a white gold version would lose half its character.
