Champagne Diamond Star Halo Pendant | 0.82ct | 18ct Yellow Gold
A natural champagne diamond and white diamond pendant in 18ct yellow gold, on an 18ct gold chain.
The centre is a 0.42ct natural champagne diamond, held in four claws. Around it, 16 white diamonds build out into a four-pointed star, with a single stone at each tip and pairs filling the sides. The white stones sharpen the outline, and against them the champagne centre looks warmer and richer than it would on its own.

About champagne diamonds
Most diamonds are valued for having as little colour as possible. Champagne diamonds go the other way. Their warm brown tone comes from tiny distortions in the crystal lattice that formed under heat and pressure deep in the earth. They’re graded on a scale from C1, the palest straw, through to C7, a deep cognac. At C6–C7, this stone sits at the rich end. Many of the best-known champagne diamonds came from Western Australia’s Argyle mine, which closed in 2020.
Come and see it in the cabinet at Craigieburn. Champagne diamonds look paler in daylight and deepen under warm light, so it’s worth seeing both.
