An emerald-cut amethyst at the centre with an oval rhodolite garnet either side, claw-set on a 9ct yellow gold band. A three-stone ring built on purple and pink rather than the usual white diamonds.

About the stones
Two purples-and-pinks here, from two families. Amethyst is the purple form of quartz, coloured by a trace of iron, and it's one of the oldest prized gems of all: the ancient Greeks thought it warded off drunkenness, which is where the name comes from, and it was valued alongside ruby and emerald until big deposits turned up in Brazil in the 1800s. Rhodolite is the raspberry member of the garnet family, a natural blend of pyrope and almandine that gives it that berry colour rather than plain red.
