Why this ring works

The design is pure Art Deco. A deep blue, emerald cut sapphire sits at the centre, ringed first by a close halo of small round diamonds, then by a fan of tapered baguettes radiating outward like rays. That layered, geometric halo is the signature of 1920s and 30s jewellery, and it gives a modest 1.04ct centre real scale and drama on the hand.
