About morganite
Morganite is the peach-to-pink member of the beryl family, which makes it a close cousin of both aquamarine and emerald, and it takes its soft blush colour from a trace of manganese. It's a relatively modern gem in the jewellery world, named a bit over a century ago after the American financier J.P. Morgan, and its gentle warm-pink tone is exactly why it pairs so naturally with rose gold. At 7.5 to 8 on the hardness scale it wears well day to day, and warm soapy water with a soft brush keeps it bright.
