Willow | 1.10ct Oval Cut Lab Grown Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring | Tapered Band | 18ct Yellow & White Gold
A 1.10ct oval cut lab grown diamond, D colour, VVS2 clarity, set in an 18ct yellow gold tapered band with a white gold four-claw head.
Why this ring works
No halo, no pavé, no extra diamonds doing supporting work, just a single 1.10ct oval lifted up off the finger by four claws, with a fine yellow gold band leading into it. It's the style that has defined "classic engagement ring" for over a hundred years, and the reason couples keep coming back to it: nothing distracts from the centre stone.
The tapered band is a quiet design detail which makes the centre diamond look noticeably larger and gives the whole ring a more elegant, more elongated silhouette.
The two-tone metal mix is doing specific work. White gold claws keep the diamond reading icy and bright, where yellow gold prongs would have cast warmth into a D colour stone. The 18ct yellow gold band warms the overall ring and stops it feeling clinical. Yellow gold has come back hard in engagement rings over the last few years, particularly with buyers who find white metal too clinical for something this personal.
The fine band sits close to the finger and pairs cleanly with any wedding band. Plain, diamond-set, vintage, modern, you name it.
The diamond
Carat: 1.10ct
Cut: Oval

Clarity: VVS2 (very, very slightly included, completely eye-clean and one of the highest clarity grades available)
Type: Lab grown diamond
Certification: IGI Diamond Report
D/VVS2 is a "no compromises" diamond grade. You're getting the absolute peak of the colour scale and near-perfect clarity in one stone.
A note on lab grown diamonds
Lab grown diamonds are made of the same material as mined diamonds: pure carbon, crystallised under intense heat and pressure. The only difference is where that process happens. Mined diamonds form over billions of years deep in the earth. Lab grown diamonds form in a controlled chamber over a matter of weeks, using the same chemistry. Chemically, optically and physically, the two are identical. Same hardness, same fire, same sparkle, same certification standards. No naked eye can tell them apart. Only a gemmologist with specialised lab equipment can identify the difference.
