About tourmaline
Tourmaline comes in a wider range of colours than just about any other gemstone, from pinks and reds through greens and blues, and even stones that show two colours at once. This one is a clear rose-pink, a colour tourmaline takes from a trace of manganese in the crystal. It fooled people for centuries: some of the famous "rubies" in old royal collections turned out to be pink and red tourmaline all along.
