Why this ring works
The pear cut is one of the more distinctive diamond shapes we sell. It has a teardrop silhouette with one rounded end and one pointed end, which makes the finger look longer and creates a sense of movement that round and oval cuts don't have.
The halo is the design detail that gives the ring its presence. A ring of small round brilliant diamonds wraps around the centre stone, following the elongated pear silhouette exactly. Pointed at one end, curved at the other.
The diamond-set band carries the sparkle down the finger rather than stopping it at the halo. Small round brilliants run along the top of the band in fine claw settings, partway around so the ring can still be comfortably resized later if needed. The combined effect of the halo and the diamond band is a ring that reads as continuously sparkling from every angle, with no plain metal interrupting the diamond detail.

E/VS1 is a premium grade. E sits in the top three on the colour scale (D, E, F are all colourless), and VS1 means the stone is eye-clean with only very minor inclusions visible under 10x magnification.
What is a Type IIA diamond?
Type IIA is the rarest and purest classification of diamond, containing virtually no nitrogen impurities. Only around 1-2% of natural diamonds fall into this category, and historically they've included some of the most famous diamonds in the world. The classification refers to the diamond's chemical purity rather than its colour or clarity, but Type IIA stones almost always grade in the colourless range because there's no nitrogen to introduce a yellow tint.
Lab grown CVD diamonds can be reliably produced as Type IIA, which is one of the genuine advantages of choosing lab grown. The centre stone in this ring is certified Type IIA on the IGI report.
A note on lab grown diamonds
Lab grown diamonds are made of the same material as mined diamonds: pure carbon, crystallised under intense heat and pressure. The only difference is where that process happens. Mined diamonds form over billions of years deep in the earth. Lab grown diamonds form in a controlled chamber over a matter of weeks, using the same chemistry. Chemically, optically and physically, the two are identical. Same hardness, same fire, same sparkle, same certification standards. No naked eye can tell them apart. Only a gemmologist with specialised lab equipment can identify the difference.
