Multi-Colour Sapphire Ring | 9ct Yellow Gold

A scatter of coloured sapphires set flush into a domed 9ct yellow gold band, in blue, purple, pink, yellow and green. One gem family, shown right across its colour range.

A cornflower blue oval leads at the centre with a violet pear beside it, and pinks, yellows and a touch of green are scattered around and along the band. It's playful without tipping into busy, and it sits comfortably flat on the finger.

About sapphire
Most people picture sapphire as blue, but blue is only where it starts. Sapphire is the gem form of corundum, and apart from red, which we call ruby, it grows in just about every colour there is. The pinks, purples, yellows and greens sitting together in this ring are all sapphire, their different colours coming from tiny traces of other elements picked up as each crystal formed. It's one of the hardest stones there is after diamond, which is part of why sapphire has been worn and handed down for centuries and takes everyday wear so well.
