Amanda | Australian Sapphire & Diamond Ring | 18ct Gold | Exclusively Paton's Place
A deep blue oval Australian sapphire held in yellow gold claws, with marquise diamonds clustered down each shoulder, in 18ct gold. Exclusive to Paton's Place.
Why this ring works
Amanda designed this ring for herself, one of our own team drawing up the piece she wanted to wear. It turned out so beautifully that we had to make one for you too.
A rich, dark blue Australian sapphire sits at the centre at 1.40 carats, framed by little clusters of marquise diamonds that fan out along each shoulder like petals. The white marquise diamonds and their white gold settings keep the sparkle bright and cool, which makes the deep blue read even richer, while warm yellow gold claws hold the sapphire and pick up the warmth of the band. A design with real presence and a soft, almost floral character.

About Australian sapphire
Australia is one of the world's great sapphire sources, with gemfields across central Queensland and northern New South Wales. Its sapphires run from deep blue to teal, green and gold, and many are worn untreated, just as they came out of the ground. As a form of corundum, sapphire is one of the hardest gemstones there is after diamond, so it takes everyday wear beautifully.
Hardness: 9 on the Mohs scale
Birthstone: September
Please note: This is a natural Australian sapphire, so its exact colour and tone are unique to the stone. The piece you receive will be its own variation.
