Why this ring works
The emerald cut uses long, parallel facets running down the length of the stone, which lets you see into the diamond rather than just off it. It's sometimes called the "hall of mirrors" effect. The cut shows clarity more openly than brilliant cuts do, so it requires good grading. F/VS1 is exactly that.
The bezel setting is a deliberate choice and one we don't see often on emerald cuts at this size. A bezel wraps the entire perimeter of the diamond in a continuous band of gold, holding the stone securely without any claws breaking up the silhouette. The result is a clean look that frames the diamond like a picture rather than perching it on top.
The cathedral-style split shoulder is the detail you only see from the side. Instead of a single solid band leading into the bezel, the band splits into two rails as it rises toward the head, creating an open architectural detail that adds lightness and stops the ring from feeling heavy.

A note on lab grown diamonds
Lab grown diamonds are made of the same material as mined diamonds: pure carbon, crystallised under intense heat and pressure. The only difference is where that process happens. Mined diamonds form over billions of years deep in the earth. Lab grown diamonds form in a controlled chamber over a matter of weeks, using the same chemistry. Chemically, optically and physically, the two are identical. Same hardness, same fire, same sparkle, same certification standards. No naked eye can tell them apart. Only a gemmologist with specialised lab equipment can identify the difference.
