Jewellery Guarantee

At Paton’s Place we pride ourselves on our work and that of our manufacturers. We offer a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects (excluding everyday wear and tear). This is conditional on you maintaining your jewellery in accordance with our care plan and keeping up with your free regular inspections.

In general

  • Diamonds are extremely hard but they do need care to keep them at their sparkling best. Even though a diamond is hard it can be chipped by a sharp blow along its grain.
  • Coloured Gemstones have slight irregularities and variations, natural characteristics, or internal inclusions, visible or otherwise. These are unique to each individual stone and are not considered a defect.
  • Precious metals will scratch with wear, this is normal. A professional polish can fix this as required.

Tips for caring for your jewellery

  • Remove jewellery before showering, sleeping, swimming, cleaning, exercising (especially gym and weightlifting), manual labour work i.e operating of heavy machinery, lifting.
  • Avoid direct contact with perfume, chlorine, cosmetics, hairspray or any harsh chemicals.
  • Store items separately to avoid accidental damage and scratching.
  • Your jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
  • Regular professional cleaning & service checks.
  • To give jewellery a quick clean, use a mild detergent, warm water and a soft toothbrush to get underneath your settings. Rinse well with clean water and pat dry.
