Zircon is a natural gemstone.  Zircon is an ancient mineral (the oldest known sample of any material on Earth is a zircon crystal, dated at 4.4 billion years old), and it has one of the highest refractive indexes of any natural gem, meaning it bends and disperses light more intensely than almost anything except diamond.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe colour ranges from soft sea-glass blue through to vivid Caribbean teal — and at 2.89ct in a cushion cut, this stone sits firmly in the saturated, eye-catching range.
